4 Tips to Choose Your Wedding Vibe

What Wedding Theme Fits Me?

I’m here to talk wedding themes. I once did a Harry Potter themed wedding where guests were given their seating assignment via “Sorting Hat,” and another time did a Star Wars wedding where hors d’oeuvres were served by a robotic R2D2 and the bride and groom did a light saber duel in lieu of a first dance. Now, while I am by NO MEANS endorsing a themed wedding, I do love that these couples threw trends to the wind and made their weddings an event that was so unique to them. Even if a theme is not your thing, deciding on the wedding vibe and style is a crucial part of planning the big day. It is also a challenging task that every couple has to go through because there are simply so many options when it comes to beautiful themes! I know it is hard to pick just one, so to help you decide which style is ideally the best choice, I've listed 4 tips to guide you.

Make Your Dream Come True

You probably have a dream wedding on your mind already. It might be something that you always imagined way before any engagement happened. It's finally time to make that dream come true! You can choose your wedding vibe based on that. Seaside? Vintage? Classic? Boho? If it's doable, why not, right? Also, your big day is all about your style, wishes, and what you have envisioned. You can make it even more special by choosing your dream wedding theme.

Choose Personal vs Trendy

It's easier to follow wedding trends and use them on your own. But where is the fun in that? Your wedding style should be personal. Don't just follow what's trendy for your wedding. Let’s be real - you would want to remember your event in a way that reflects you as a couple and not like something you saw on the internet!

Find What Suits your Personality

Choose your wedding style based on what is most comfortable for you both. The vibe in your celebration should suit your personality. If not, you won't enjoy your special day. That is not something I would want for anyone. So what should you do? Find a style that fits your unique characters. Analyze your lifestyle preferences like preferred colors, home decor, interior, flowers, even hobbies - you will get a few clues. Furthermore, are you someone who loves to make everything grand or do you prefer to keep it simple? Sit with your partner and ask questions before deciding on your theme.

Make It Wedding Venue Appropriate

Your style should fit your wedding venue’s style as well. In fact, the venue can serve as an inspiration to know which theme you would choose. A place can give you an elegant feeling, while some can be rustic. That will make it a bit easier to decide on a style, or at least to learn what you like/don’t like!
