What is Your Photography Style?

How to Find the Perfect Style for Your Wedding Photograpy

Slide2.JPG

Today I’m talking Photography Styles. Photographers are 100% one of the first wedding vendors you need to book, and when trying to find your picture perfect match, personality is key (after all it is likely you will spend more time with your photographer on your wedding day than with your new hubs or wifey). Style matters too. There is a lot of talent out there, so if you gravitate toward one style or another, that can be a great place to start. Take a look below to see examples of a few styles from some of my all-time favorite talents. Light & Airy / Dark & Moody / Portrait / Artistic / Photojournalistic. If there is one you gravitate to the most…that’s your style!

  1. Light & Airy: This style is bright, natural & happy! It has the whitewashed look and muted tones associated with natural light.

2. Dark & Moody: This style conveys deep emotion with strong shadows by controlling light and exposure.

3. Artistic or Fine Art Photography: photography where the images are created to be enjoyed as a visual art. It's a style of wedding photography where the photographer is crafting a story through their lens with artistic images.

4. Photojournalistic: Photojournalistic wedding photography is realistic. It's the unposed and authentic way of narrating the story of the wedding days, kind of like documentary style wedding photography.
